Itinerary
Day 1 - Thursday December 7th
Plan to arrive into Costa Rica's Liberia Guanacaste Airport (LIR) by 4pm. From there you'll be picked up by driver and taken to our beautiful hotel in Liberia. This beautiful city is a perfect jumping off point to begin our Costa Rican adventure. Tonight we'll enjoy some delicious appetizers while we get to know each other and talk about the amazing things in store for the week ahead.
*Note that flights arriving later than 4pm will likely miss the welcome appetizers and drinks.

Day 2 - Friday December 8th
We will begin our day by traveling to the beautiful Oropendola waterfall with an easy trail through the jungle good for all skill levels. Once near the bottom you'll be rewarded with one of the most unique hanging bridges in Costa Rica and a close-up view of the turquoise falls. We’ll spend some time swimming in the pools and wandering around the falls and surrounding river. Once we’ve had our share of the water we’ll enjoy a traditional Costa Rican Casado lunch. We’ll take the rest of the afternoon and evening recovering from our day in our luxurious resort accommodations. You can spend your time relaxing by the pool or enjoying a short walk to the neighboring eateries and shops.

Day 3 - Saturday December 9th
We'll say goodbye to Liberia this morning and make our way to the charming town of La Fortuna. Along the way we’ll stop at the breathtaking Llanos de Cortes waterfall and spend the morning swimming in the refreshing pool below. We’ll stop for lunch at one of the many scenic eateries along the way before visiting the La Fortuna Waterfall and get some aerial pictures of the jungle falls before making our way down to relax in the cool waters. Once we've cooled down we'll make our way to our new accommodations in La Fortuna to settle in for the night.

Day 4 - Sunday December 10th
After a leisurely breakfast we'll take some time today to soak up all our stunning resort has to offer. The day is yours to do whatever you'd like. You can take zip-line through the jungle, kayak on Lake Arenal, day trip to Cano Negro or Monteverde, pamper yourself with a massage, or relax in the nearby hot springs. The day is yours to recharge or adventure however you please.

Day 5 - Monday December 11th
Today we'll journey to the Penas Blancas River for a Safari by raft. We’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of the rainforest while peacefully paddling the river searching for monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and numerous tropical birds. After our safari we’ll stop for a chocolate tasting and learn how some of the best chocolate in the world is grown and produce.

Day 6 - Tuesday December 12th
Today we'll say goodbye to La Fortuna and make our way to the stunning coastal town of Tamarindo. Along the way we’ll stop for lunch and some souvenir shopping before settling in to our final resort of the trip.

Day 7 - Wednesday December 13th
After a leisurely breakfast the day is yours to explore, relax, recharge, or adventure. Tamarindo is the perfect place to snorkel, surf, or explore the laid back beachside town. Whether you want to take part in an invigorating spa day, take a yoga class on the beach, or lounge around our resort, it's sure to be the perfect day to wind down our time here. For dinner we'll all gather together and reminisce about the incredible time we've had and the wonderful friends we've made.

Day 8 - Thursday December 14th
On this last day everybody will enjoy a delicious breakfast and prepare for their journeys home (or to the next destination of their private vacations). Transportation to Liberia Guanacaste Airport will be provided for anyone who would like it.
*Note that flights departing Liberia before 12pm will require arranging earlier alternate transportation at your own cost.

Weather in Costa Rica in December
The average weather in Costa Rica in December is warm and comfortable, but keep in mind at some of the higher elevations we will visit the weather can change rapidly and extra layers are recommended.
It's a wonderful time of year to be in Costa Rica, but precautions must be made - wearing a hat and sunscreen and remembering to drink plenty of water will help keep you safe and happy in the humid tropical weather.

Pricing and Payment Schedule
The total cost for this trip is $3490.00. You can pay the full amount when you register, or if you would like to break it up into payments, they will be as follows:
The initial trip deposit (First payment) of $990.00 is due immediately in order to reserve your spot.
If you reserve your spot before July 15th, 2023 the payment schedule will be:
Second payment in the amount of $834.00 will be made by August 15th, 2023
Third payment in the amount of $834.00 will be made by September 15th, 2023
Final payment in the amount of $832.00 will be made by October 15th, 2023
If you reserve your spot between July 16th to August 15th, 2023 the payment schedule will be:
Second payment in the amount of $1250.00 will be made by September 15th, 2023
Final payment in the amount of $1250.00 will be made by October 15th, 2023
If you reserve your spot between July 16th and August 15th, 2023 you will need to pay the remainder of the trip cost in the amount of $2500.00 by October 15th, 2023.
Any reservations made after August 16th, 2023 will require the full trip payment amount of $3490.00.
Refund and Reimbursement Policy
If you have to cancel your trip for any reason, the following refund schedule will apply. Please note the initial trip deposit is non-refundable. It is highly recommended you purchase travel insurance with a "cancel for any reason" option within 14 days of making deposit in the unlikely event you need to file a claim.
If you cancel by April 15th, 2023 - the full amount of the payments you have made so far (less the $990.00 deposit) will be refunded to you.
If you cancel between July 16th and August 15th, 2023 - 75% of the payments you have made so far (less the $990.00 deposit) will be refunded to you.
If you cancel between August 16th and September 15th, 2023 - 50% of the payments you have made so far (less the $990.00 deposit) will be refunded to you.
If you cancel between September 16th and October 15th, 2023 - 25% of the payments you have made so far (less the $990.00 deposit) will be refunded to you.
There will be no refunds for any trip cancelled after October 16th, 2023.
