Frequently Asked Questions
Who can go on a group trip?
Any woman over 18 with a moderate fitness level is welcome. If you would like to travel with children under 18 or have a less than moderate level of fitness, check out the Travel Planning Services that PTW offers to have your very own custom-made vacation planned for you.
What are the hotels/rooms like?
The places we stay will be different for all trips. They will be private guesthouses, villas, resorts, or luxury hotels all been hand-picked by Lindsey to ensure the utmost comfort. On all small group tours, guests will be staying in their own rooms with private bathrooms. If this is not the case it will state very clearly in the description. At present, all tours include private rooms. If you would like more specific information about the accomodations, please contact Lindsey directly.
How much does it cost?
Each trip has it's own set price. If you click on the 'Upcoming Adventures' link, it will connect you to the different tours coming up. There is a section under each trip explaining the pricing and payment.
What is included/not included in the price?
All hotel accommodations, transportation listed on itinerary (including buses, trains, cars, or flights going from one city to the next during our travels), activities, outings, and meals listed as included in itinerary are covered in the price. You can look at a specific trip itinerary to find out exactly what meals are covered for each day.
What will not be included:
International airfare, visas, excess luggage, travel insurance, travel vaccinations, drinks and meals not listed as covered on the itinerary, and any personal shopping you wish to do while traveling.
How do I pay?
All payments will be made through PayPal or Venmo. Lindsey will send you a detailed payment plan and instructions once you've registered for a trip. Payment amounts and schedules specific to trips will be found on the trip itineraries.
How does the extension work?
The extension is an additional several days added to the end of each group trip. This is a part of your trip that will not have group activities planned unless otherwise stated, so you will be able to really enjoy some time to yourself in a beautiful setting. All accommodations and transportation to and from the extension destination will be covered by the extension costs. If you decide to go on the extension, you will need to pay the additional extension cost by the trip payment deadline.
What should I do to secure my spot?
Fill out the form on the Contact page of this website or by emailing Lindsey. You can also find this form by clicking on the Sign Up Now tab at the top of each Trip Itinerary page or the Register Now tab at the bottom of each Trip Itinerary page. Make sure to write which trip you are registering for in the Comment section and Lindsey will contact you directly with payment instructions. Once the initial deposit has been made your spot is secure.
What should I pack?
Lindsey will send you an in-depth packing list prior to your trip.
What documents are needed?
You will need a passport that is valid for at least six months after the date of entry. For several countries you will also need at least 2 blank pages in your passport. For US citizens, visas will often be needed. Lindsey will go over the steps necessary to secure your visa before (or during) travel. Please make sure to take the necessary steps to insure your documents are in order before traveling.
Do I need to carry my luggage?
Yes, you will need to be able to carry your luggage through the airport and to and from hotels. Not all accommodations in other countries have lifts, so carrying luggage up stairs might be necessary. It is best to pack light and make sure you bring a day pack to carry essentials during the outings. This will all be explained in more detail on the packing list you will be sent once you've registered for a trip.
What will the weather be like in my destination?
Average weather for each destination at the time of travel can be found at the bottom of the Trip Itinerary pages.
What if I need to cancel the trip?
If you decide you need to cancel your trip, you will be reimbursed according to the refund schedule found at the bottom of the specific Trip Itinerary page. The initial trip deposit is non-refundable, which is why trip insurance is required. If you purchase trip insurance within 14 days of your initial deposit you can usually choose a "cancel for any reason" option where you can then file a claim on the insurance for reimbursement.
