Itinerary
Day 1 - Friday April 21st
Plan to arrive into Marrakech's Menara Airport (RAK) by 4pm. From there you'll be picked up by private driver and taken to our riad in the heart of the old city. Marrakech is one of Morocco's four Imperial cities and home to the largest market in the country. Tonight we'll enjoy some time getting to know each other and talking about the amazing things in store for the days ahead. After our welcome, the night is yours to discover the bustling city night life or turn in early to prepare for our exciting time of exploring Morocco!
*Note that flights from the US might require a departure of April 19th or 20th to make this arrival time.
Overnight in Marrakech
Day 2 - Saturday April 22nd
Today we will take a walking tour with a local to familiarize ourselves with this amazing city and make sure we don't miss a thing. We'll visit the oldest mosque, Bahia Palace, several markets, the Jewish Quarter and so much more all while learning the history of this fascinating city. We'll have a wonderful lunch in the medina and have the rest of the afternoon to explore or unwind however we'd like.

Day 3 - Sunday April 23rd
There's a special treat in store for us today as we start our Desert Tour. We'll be picked up at our riad in Marrakech after breakfast and head towards the High Atlas mountains through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, along a road that climbs from the plains up to 2,260m above sea level passing through small villages and waterfalls through continuously changing landscape and colors. We'll stop on the pass for a cup of refreshing mint tea and admire the scenery before taking the road to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah where we will arrive in time for lunch. Here we can visit the famous Kasbah declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and the scene of films like The Gladiator, Babel, Lawrence of Arabia, The Legionary, The Sheltering Sky, and many others. We will visit the town of Ouarzazate, the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios movie studios, the largest and most famous in all of Africa. Then we will go through the famous Valley of Roses and the Dades valley reaching the Todra Gorge in time for sunset where we will stop in a very traditional hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - Monday April 24th
After breakfast we will take a walk in Todra Gorge to enjoy the view of the mountain and rivers then take the car to drive the road of the 1000 Kasbas, go through Tineghier Village and the Jewish Kasbah. We'll continue on our way passing Erfoud and Rissani arriving in Merzouga before sunset. From here we will leave our car in a hotel and make our way on camel into the Erg-Chebbi Dunes for an incredible and unforgettable night in a Berber tent where we will have dinner under millions of stars.

Day 5 - Tuesday April 25th
In the morning you can get up early to take a walk over the sand Dunes and watch the sunrise from just behind the Algerian border, which is about 50 km from Merzouga. We'll take camels back to the hotel and after breakfast ,shower, and a rest we'll start our tour to Fes through Ziz Valley Berber villages, and the Middle Atlas mountains. We will arrive in Fes in the afternoon where we'll have time to unwind after our incredible desert experience.

Day 6 - Wednesday April 26th
Today will begin with another amazing walking tour around the maze of streets that make up Fes. We will walk tiny alleys where people live, and narrow streets with every kind of shop and food stall. You will not see cars, but make sure to step aside for donkeys and hand carts! You will meet artisans, shop keepers, and food sellers, as we visit a bakery, weaver, hammam, apothecary, tannery, traditional clothing shop, and so much more. We will hear traditions, history, and what makes Fés special as we go. Take your time as you stop, admire, taste, and take pictures. You will see the thousand year history all around you as we find museums, schools, monuments, and the beautiful facades of mosques and shrines. We'll end the tour with a local lunch and free evening to spend however we please.

Day 7 - Thursday April 27th
Today we'll get to discover another of Morocco’s four imperial cities and the remains of the former capital of the kingdom of Mauretania on a full-day tour from Fes. Our first stop will be the Roman ruins of Volubilis where we'll explore the remains of the 2,000-year-old complex. We'll then continue to Moulay Idriss to discover one of Morocco's holiest cities and tour the narrow streets of the compact town where Moulay Idriss I introduced the religion of Islam in 789 AD. Then we'll transfer to the city of Meknes, founded in the 11th century by the Almoravids as a military settlement. We'll go into the Medina and see some of the monumental city gates and ornamental decorations of the Spanish-Moorish architecture. We'll tour the city walls and stop at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, founder of the Alaouite dynasty and sultan when Meknes was the capital city, then we'll visit the Museum of Moroccan Art to see a wide variety of handicrafts before making our way back to our riad in Fes.

Day 8 - Friday April 28th
After a filling breakfast at our riad we'll begin our journey to Chefchaouen by VIP bus. Once we arrive we'll have time to get settled before making our way to the busy city center for an evening walking tour to see the beautiful town at it's best before a short hike to the Spanish Mosque to watch the sun set over the city.

Day 9 - Saturday April 29th
After breakfast we'll be picked up by private driver to make our way to the village of Akchour. We’ll start our short hike to the bridge of god, a bridge that was made naturally by rocks, surrounded by crystal blue waters. We’ll cross rivers, walk through a beautiful valley, and if you'd like to swim, the area is full of natural springs. After an hour of hiking we’ll reach the bridge and there we’ll have a mint tea and relax in the stunning surroundings. Once we've had our fill of relaxing we’ll walk back to the village where we can visit the organic food market and grab a bite to eat. We'll make our way back to Chefchaouen and have a bit of time to unwind before a special dinner to reminisce on the incredible adventure we've had over the last 10 days.

Day 10 - Sunday April 30th
On this last day everybody will begin their journey home (or to the next destination of their private vacations). Transportation back to Fes will be provided for anyone who would like it, but you will need to make separate arrangements if you are required to arrive in Fes earlier than 4pm. If you are departing from Marrakech I would be happy to help you make those arrangements as well.

The total cost for this trip is $4490.00. You can pay the full amount when you register, or if you would like to break it up into payments, they would be as follows:
The initial trip deposit (First payment) of $990.00 is due immediately in order to reserve your spot.
If you reserve your spot before December 1st, 2022 the payment schedule will be:
Second payment in the amount of $1167.00 will be made by January 1st, 2023
Third payment in the amount of $1167.00 will be made by February 1st, 2023
Final payment in the amount of $1166.00 will be made by March 1st, 2023
If you reserve your spot between December 2nd, 2022 and January 1st, 2023 the payment schedule will be:
Second payment in the amount of $1750.00 will be made by February 1st, 2022
Final payment in the amount of $1750.00 will be made by March 1st, 2023
If you reserve your spot between January 2nd and February 1st, 2023 you will need to pay the remainder of the trip cost in the amount of $3500.00 by March 1st, 2023.

Refund and Reimbursement Policy
If you have to cancel your trip for any reason, the following refund schedule will apply. Please note all the initial trip deposit is non-refundable (which is why trip insurance is mandatory - it protects you in every possible way!).
If you cancel by December 15th, 2022 - the full amount of the payments you have made so far (less the $990.00 deposit) will be refunded to you.
If you cancel between December 16th, 2022 and January, 15th - 75% of the payments you have made so far (less the $990.00 deposit) will be refunded to you.
